Cole-Parmer SD laboratory mixers ensures accurate, dependable motor speed control with “soft-start” feature and smooth, gradual adjustment to the speed setting. Constant speed is maintained electronically via automatic compensation for changes in load torque demands at both high and low speeds. Built-in motor current compensation minimises speed drift with changes in load. Motor current limiting protects the system in case of a locked rotor condition. Output circuit protection protects against inadvertent output shorting.

The mixer rotates at 50 to 2500rpm with a maximum torque of 113 in-oz (80 N·cm) and has a through-shaft capability. Bracket hardware is preinstalled to enable installation of the adjustable tilt mounting bracket. The motor cable connector has a locking mechanism when the cable is connected to prevent unintended disconnection in the event of accidental force on the motor cable. The precision digital controller is used to turn on and set the speed, timer, direction of rotation, and torque limits for the mixer motor. LED indicators identify the function being displayed, and a flashing LED and audible alarm indicate when limit conditions have been reached.
